Slow Money Monterey One Year Celebration @ Monterey County Weekly Press Club

The newest network of Slow Money recently opened in the Monterey Bay area.  Slow Money is a national nonprofit created to support local food systems by getting entrepreneurs visibility and funding in their local community.  The network is celebrating one year as a chapter on March 7, from 5:30-8:00 p.m.  Woody Tasch, the author of Slow Money, will be here to talk about Slow Money and read from his newest book.

The event will be held at the Monterey County Weekly press club at 1123 Fremont Boulevard in Seaside, CA.  The event is free, and coffee, beer and wine will be available for purchase.   Hidden Fortress coffee serves up organic, sustainably produced coffee and other treats in the Press Club, and was started with the help of Slow Money.

Get Hooked - Putting Monterey Bay's Best Fish Forward - Monterey Restaurant Week

Monterey Restaurant Week

January 14 - 21, 2019

Local food is all the rage, but terrestrial food is so 2018. To kick off 2019, it’s all about what’s being caught by our local fishing boats: fresh, seasonally relevant, sustainably caught seafood.  The fish then gets masterfully transformed by some of the top chefs on the peninsula into delectable entrée that participating restaurants will feature for the entire week.  You’ll also become familiar with the names, vessels, and stories of the fishermen who reeled in your catch.  Now’s your chance to indulge either at your fav spot or venture out and try one that’s been on your ‘must-eat’ list!  C’mon and take the plunge - with your fork!
