FAVORITE FOOD:

My husband’s grandmother’s mole – I compare every mole to hers

FUN FACTS:

I love making home-made Halloween costumes and birthday cakes for my four sons

Welcome to Monterey Bay Food Tours!  My name is Casey and I am a lover of great food, wine, and culture and am the proud owner and founder of Monterey Bay Food Tours.  I was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, but dreamed of moving to California since high school.  When my husband was given the opportunity to move to Monterey for work in the summer of 2016 we jumped at the opportunity.  I first visited the area 7 years prior to moving and immediately fell in love with the food and cultural diversity the California Central Coast has to offer.  Having worked in industries as varied as medical research, education (I was a Spanish teacher), and hospitality as well as spending time as a stay-at-home mom, I finally feel that I am fulfilling my dream of working for myself and doing what I love.  We have always enjoyed cooking for and trying new foods with friends and family, but now I am excited to share this passion with you.  I love to travel and explore new places, hiking, running, biking, and trying new things.  Since moving to the area I started running half marathons and the beauty of the area and weather keep me signing up for more!

HEATHER

FOOD TOUR GUIDE

FAVORITE DRINK:

Margarita

FAVORITE FOOD:

Pesto

FUN FACTS:

I'm crazy about dancing, and I'm a master organizer – making money for people liquidating their storage units

A native of Monterey, Heather is very familiar with the eateries, places and characters of the
quaint city that she can’t seem to part with. She’s been a collaborator and sampler of recipes
and experiments being created in many local kitchens; dining like a queen and a merry peasant.
Heather has a life long love of photography, dance and writing, but her love of food came much later,
sometime after she was willing to stop hiding vegetables up her cuff sleeves at the family
dinner table. Since then she’s had an adventuresome about-face and cultivated zealous taste
buds. She believes we can all play with our food.
She says, “I possess a natural affinity for desiring to eat a few times a day, as most do I realize,
but where others haven’t thought or planned to go, I’d be happy to take up post as guide to
their senses; senses that will be reminded of places exotic and far off, and especially palatable
places…right where they sit.”

MARISA

FOOD TOUR GUIDE

FAVORITE DRINK:

Coffee

FAVORITE FOOD:

Breakfast - I could eat breakfast for lunch and dinner!

FUN FACTS:

I can beat box, and last year I taught myself how to do a handstand

Marisa is from a small town in Northern California and grew up on an olive farm. As a result of
living in a small town, there was not a wide variety of food options so her family spent a lot of
time cooking at home. Marisa says her mom is the best cook! After spending a couple of years
playing basketball at a small community college, Marisa decided to explore somewhere a little
farther from home and moved to the Monterey Bay to complete her education. She loves the
community, the food and the ocean and says she couldn’t be happier. One of Marisa’s favorite
things to do is exercise; anything but running! She also enjoys art, photography, scuba diving,
beach bonfires, playing with her dog, and any competition (even watermelon eating contests –
she has ribbons to prove it).
